LOCUM Anaesthetic Technician Position – Auckland

Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled Anaesthetic Technician for a LOCUM position at a leading healthcare facility in Auckland. The ideal candidate will assist anaesthetists in the preparation and administration of anaesthesia for surgeries and procedures, ensuring all anaesthetic equipment is properly maintained and ready for use. This role requires extensive experience in providing anaesthetic support in operating theatres and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities include monitoring patients' vital signs during surgery, providing post-operative care, maintaining accurate patient records, adhering to safety protocols, and collaborating with surgical teams. Responsibilities

Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding. Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients. Ensure patient hygiene and safety by adhering to all infection control protocols. Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and patient mobility. Maintain a clean and organized environment and report changes in patient conditions to the medical team.

Required Skills

Compassionate and patient-focused approach. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Basic knowledge of hygiene and infection control practices. Ability to work effectively in a team and under supervision. Physically capable of performing manual tasks such as lifting patients. A Level 3 or higher healthcare-related qualification is preferred. Previous experience in caregiving or healthcare is an advantage.
